Leg Up – Art on Linen by Meghan Borah

A silhouette, a sense of play, and more beneath the surface than first meets the eye. In Leg Up, Meghan Borah explores the figure as a graphic form, distilling line and shape into a composition with an airy, unexpected lightness. Its apparent simplicity invites you to slow down and look again.

Layered paint seems to veil other figures beneath the surface, creating a quiet tension between what is visible and what remains suggested. The work leaves room for curiosity: a line can feel decisive in one moment, while the layers around it open another possibility. That balance of clarity and ambiguity gives you something to return to over time.

Created in 2021 using distemper and chalk on linen, this artwork measures 18 by 15 inches. A sweet little painting that makes you pause and smile when you spot the humor tucked inside.
